Queens' College is one of the 31 constituent colleges of the University of Cambridge. Its beautiful campus is located in the centre of Cambridge. Education is one of the many subjects that undergraduates can choose to study at Queens' College. We have a thriving community of postgraduate students in Education at Queens'. I serve as the Director of Studies in Education at Queens' College—this means that I serve as the undergraduates' academic advisor. I also convene an intellectual community of Education undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as alumni at Queens'. Our education community also includes Simina Dragoș, a Research Fellow, as well as Dr. John Harding, the Director of the Disability Resource Centre and Fellow Commoner at Queens' College.

We offer a tight-knit intellectual community, excellent small-group teaching, and a bespoke undergraduate college curriculum to undergraduate students reading Education at Queens'. This college support and curriculum is offered in parallel with lectures and examination by the Faculty of Education at the University of Cambridge. The Queens' College curriculum provides students foundational knowledge in Education, as well as develops their critical thinking and writing skills. We place a heavy emphasis on reading books by key thinkers in Education. Students at Queens' will have access to outstanding and experienced supervisors who support them in small-group teaching. Our students are well-prepared for their assessments through receiving regular and detailed feedback. We provide reading lists and a manageable schedule of work for students during the vacation periods, as well as regular mock examinations. We generally have 8-10 undergraduates reading Education across all three years at any given time.
We have a thriving community of approximately 30 postgraduate students in Education at Queens' College across all degree and certificate programmes. As a postgraduate, you are a member of the Queens' College Education Society; you are also eligible to apply to the Joan Whitehead Subject Fund (see below). A select group of doctoral students studying Education at Queens' become eligible to supervise undergraduates if they demonstrate a commitment to teaching.
The Queens' College Education Society is our intellectual community of undergraduate and postgraduate students in Education, as well as alumni. If you study Education at Queens', you will be a member of this community for life. We hold termly enhanced formal dinners for the society that feature talks by students and alumni. We also host talks by visiting academics.
Yes we do! This endowed fund provides financial support for Education students' academic and personal development. Both postgraduates and undergraduates can apply. Joan Whitehead was a key figure in the development of Education as a discipline offered throughout collegiate Cambridge. She was also a key university figure in advancing equality for women in Cambridge.
Yes we do! We have offered 1 summer research internship for a selected undergraduate during each of the past two summers.
